It is my view that the variety of pies the Hobart City Council gets its fingers into is constantly expanding, with no end in sight. As this list increases, so do our rates bills.
It is my view that the Council needs to be refocused back to its core business. Things like roads and footpaths, bushfire and transport management, rubbish and recycling, recreation areas, and planning are obviously in scope.
What we are seeing now is far too much grandstanding and agenda pushing behaviour.
Ratepayer money is being chewed up by things that are not in the Council’s jurisdiction.
